Shark ION F80 Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum (or Shark Ion IF281) is the upgraded version of Shark Ion IF201, Shark most recent cordless stick. With this refresh, Shark Ion F80 has incorporated most advanced features such as multiflex technology for reaching under furniture, Duoclean brushroll and it can run up to 80 minutes. This is a great new because now you can clean more without waiting for the batteries recharged.
Let’s review Shark Ion F80 cordless vacuum and compared with other cordless models to see its benefits.
Main benefits of Shark Ion F80
Longer run time
Leading cordless stick vacuum on the market (Dyson V10 cyclone) can run for up to 60 minutes, which is now beaten by Shark Ion F80. With 2 batteries, this model allows you to clean up to 80 minutes when using as a handheld model.
You should notice that when using on carpets it will require more energy (for LED light, boosting suction,…) therefore the runtime can be shorter.
Most advanced brushroll for cleaning both pet hair and fine dust.
Duoclean technologies are Shark most successful design. Vacuums with duoclean technologies feature both a hard bristle and a soft roller on the same unit. This style of brushroll can actively remove embedded pet hairs on carpets and rugs, and at the same time deliver great performance when picking powders on bare floors.
You can convert Shark Ion F80 into a handheld cordless vacuum model for cleaning ceiling, curtain, upholstery.
Other considerations of Shark Ion F80
It does not have HEPA filtration
Shark Ion F80 uses pre-foam, felt filters and post-motor filters to capture the dust and debris. It does not have the sealed allergen system too. Therefore if you have asthma, you should consider another model called Shark ION P50 (IC162).
While cleaning performance of Shark Ion F80 is undeniable, you still have to use hand to pull out the blockage. Whereas with a Dyson model, you can just press a button and it’s clean.
It has a small dustbin
While running time is improved up to 80 minutes, the dustbin of Shark Ion F80 is just about 0.3 dry quart.

You can compare this model with other new cordless models from Shark brand like Shark Ion X40, Shark Ion PC50, and Shark Ion X30 in the below table.
Shark Ion F80 is a new model with many advantages, however, users still feel that the brand could improve the battery weight to reduce the total weight of the machine, so when using as a handheld unit it will be less fatigue. On an overall, Shark Ion F80 is a nice option, suitable for daily cleaning with less maintenance.
